My acer aspire won't turn on, but the light in the bottom right hand corner shows it is receiving power and is on the battery symbol and the light bulb symbol are both lite up.
I have attempted taking out the battery and unplugging it and then pressing the power button for 45 seconds straight and then pressing the power button numerously for another 45 seconds and walking away for twenty minutes to "get the buildup of static out". I just bought this from a local computer repair shop not even a week ago because my last computer an Hp pavilion was doing the same thing and the mother board had failed, I'm going to be really upset if that is so with this one, I've taken very good care of it since I've gotten it to ensure this does not happen, please any suggestions would help.
In addition I'm not very familiar with computer tech talk, so please use everyday words and simplified explanations for me, thank you. Feb 5, 10 0 18, 1. I've actually got the same problem. It's supposedly a common problem. The fix is supposed to be an easy "flash.

If both of the power supply are in working condition, than the issue is with your motherboard Thanks. Bob Newman Posted April 23, 0 Comments. Russell Stoebe Posted April 24, 0 Comments. The machine came with a w power supply. The laptop can often overheat because it is being overworked. To check if this is the case, close any open programs, and restart the laptop.
Wait a few minutes and if the noise of the fan decreases then your problem is solved. If your laptop overheats and turns off without the fan turning on try the following solutions. First you should check if this is the case. To do this, turn off the laptop, flip it over, and then turn it back on. If you don't hear the fan start working this mean the fan processor is not functioning and you will need to replace it.
The fan may get clogged and stop functioning due to a collection of dust. To fix this first unplug all cables and remove the plastic cover. Blow compressed air into the fan and remove all the dust.
Place the cover back on and reconnect all cables. Note: To avoid this, place your laptop on hard surfaces to allow air from the fan to properly ventilate.
Check if your volume is muted by right clicking on the speaker icon in the bottom right hand corner of the task bar and dragging the volume control up or unchecking the mute button.
If that does not fix the problem, right click on the speaker icon and go to the advanced options. This will bring up a speaker user interface which can be modified to specific speaker settings. Another possible problem could be your sound drive or sound card which may need replacing or updating of the driver for the card. If your computer is slow and having trouble performing it might be a RAM issue.
