One of the drawbacks i see is as follow: Who is responsible for the map? What happened if the map is put into ranked, but ends up pretty bugged? Is this up to the devs? Is this up to the creator?
So things needs to be made clear. But i think that isnt really a big issue, but just some work for the devs. I some what like the idea. ZeeMaps is a no-frills, online service for creating custom maps. Though the overall designs are someone limited, ZeeMaps offers more technical features than most online map makers - setting them apart. ZeeMaps can import spreadsheets and render them as the base layer of a map. ZeeMaps makes it easy.
ZeeMaps will upload this spreadsheet and create a map of all the sites within minutes. Zeemaps also features a crowdsourcing function. For example, someone could create a map of Los Angeles and ask the ZeeMap community to help locate all the In and Out Burgers in the area. Cool, right? Scribble Maps allows users to create a map , publish online, embed in a document, or print as a hard copy. High-resolution imagery is unique to this service and allows for high-quality prints and posters. There is also a good amount of help documentation that walks users through creating more technical custom maps.

I've even started working on a few myself, though I haven't finished any of them yet. Here are a few of my favorites that I've played: Revenge! It has an original story and awesome level design bordering on genius, so you should definitely check it out.
I actually haven't played the most recent version of it, but I've played the older versions and it's very good. Very well done, although extremely hard. I've never played a Silent Hill game in my life, but I still played and liked this one, so even if you aren't familiar with the SH series it's still worth a try. It'd be great to be part of a server that regularly cycles community maps and has a good player base. We could add new ones every month too. Just an idea, anyone else?
