Should i start tebow or vick

Bleeding Green Nation : Vick getting cut? The reports differ. Vick's saving grace is that he is a potentially strong fit for Chip Kelly's offense as a dual-threat quarterback. The team isn't in a bad position financially, so the Eagles could wait until having a better feel for Vick's compatibility with the offense before making a move.

He will have to do a lot to prove he is worth his big contract, however, especially after Nick Foles played capably late in the season. As much as Vick struggled, he was nowhere near the disaster that Matt Cassel was. Still, it's clear that both parties should probably split at this point. Tebow passed for just 39 yards this past season as the Jets went and missed the playoffs.

When Mark Sanchez was benched late in the season, the Jets started Greg McElroy ahead of Tebow to set off a storm of unwanted press for the club and the quarterback. Tebow may have to change positions to make a fresh start. He has the frame and athleticism to potentially be an excellent H-back or tight end, assuming he is willing to accept new responsibilities. That also assumes another NFL franchise is even going to give Tebow another chance to develop.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were rumored to be interested in the Florida native at one point, but those rumors were soundly squashed. Matt Cassel - Yet another quarterback performing nowhere close to his contract.

There is very good chance Cassel won't be a member of the Kansas City Chiefs next season. That's a lot of money for a running back that averaged just 3. As for Turner, he will be 31 by the time the season kicks off.

He was bad news, but the Eagles took a chance after commissioner Roger Goodell reinstated him. It's funny how times change. When Vick became a free agent in June , the Jets wanted no part of him, quickly and decisively indicating they had absolutely zero interest. Five years later, they believe he's fit to help groom their potential quarterback of the future. We're talking about football, not the things that transpired off the field.

In the Jets' perfect scenario, Vick wouldn't have to play. He'd be Smith's eyes and ears, teaching him and pushing him to become a better quarterback. But as we all know, plans rarely works perfectly, especially for the Jets. If Vick doesn't win the job in training camp, he'll probably get a chance at some point, either by injury or ineffectiveness. If Vick becomes the Week 1 starter, let's be honest, he probably won't last the season, considering his durability issues.

Chances are, the Jets will need both quarterbacks. The Vick-Smith relationship will be vital. Vick said they have a "great friendship" even though it's only a year old. They got to know each other before last year's draft, Vick offering advice to the former West Virginia star. They can start by not having a mega news conference to introduce Vick. Who can forget that Tebow extravaganza?

The Jets have packages in which both Tebow and Mark Sanchez take the field, but these two-QB schemes are gimmicks at best, both for the Jets and for the Quakers. But to do so, Ragone will have to be less like Vick and stay on the field.
